Dr. Gutman hails originally from Springfield, NJ. He graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Feeling unfulfilled, he decided to pursue an interest in dentistry at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine.
There he received his dental degree, and discovered orthodontics: a field that perfectly combined his mechanical engineering background and dentistry. After completing a three-year residency, he was honored with the Thomas Cangialosi Award for Clinical Excellence.
Dr. Gutman holds a part-time clinical faculty appointment at Columbia where he teaches current residents.
When he’s not perfecting patients’ smiles, Dr Gutman is an avid aquascaper and freshwater shrimp breeder who enjoys maintaining his aquariums at home.
