Dr. Skelton graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine where she was awarded the Divisional Excellence Award in Orthodontics, the ASDA Award of Excellence, and the Campbell Award. During her residency at Columbia Orthodontics, she served as Class President and Chief Resident.
She is active in organized dentistry and has held numerous national positions within the ADA and the AAO. She also holds state NYSDA and local NYCDS positions. Dr. Skelton is currently researching ultrasound technology to correlate tooth movement to underlying bony changes and has published 13 peer-reviewed scientific articles on past research interests, including cancer biology, orthodontic tooth movement, and temporomandibular joint dysfunction.
She loves spending time with her husband and their foster cat named Miles. She also enjoys cycling, practicing flying trapeze, volunteering at the children’s ministry at her church, and traveling. She has visited 6 of the 7 continents, including Antarctica, and hopes to make it to Australia for 7/7 soon.
